KevREV!Edd Part 15
Edd and Kevin didn’t talk for days after their argument. They rode to and from school together, they ate meals together, and they hung out with their friends together, but they avoided each other’s eye and never addressed each other directly.
They both knew they were just being stubborn. Their egos had been bruised and neither would admit further defeat by apologizing first. It came to the point that Nazz, Nat, and Marie were awkwardly avoiding talking to either about the other and sometimes avoided addressing either of them at all, lest they take jabs at the other.
Finally, as finals were approaching, Nat sat down with Nazz and Marie in Nazz's bedroom after Edd and Kevin had gone home. Nat leaned back in his chair and sighed. “We need to do something about the two of them. This is driving me insane.”
“I know!!” Marie slammed her books shut and groaned exasperatedly. She crossed her arms and lay her head down on her book. “I tried talking to Ed

First thing the next day at school, Edd left Kevin at his locker and tracked down Eddy. He found his target skulking in the library. He had a black eye and a deep purple bruise on his jaw. He saw Edd coming and turned to run. Edd caught him by the back of his shirt. “Discretion. All I asked for was discretion.”
“Hey, I tried, man! I was discreet as fuck!! I got caught!” Eddy held up his hands in surrender as Edd narrowed his eyes. “I did get some info, though Double D! I’m not empty handed.” He grabbed desperately at his bag. Edd took the folder Eddy offered him. Edd looked through the folder. There were pictures of Chris with the football players although he didn't seem to be one of them. Edd raised his brows at the last pictures. There was Chris with the players that had grabbed Edd. And the last one was of Chris with a dark haired boy that looked like he could be related to Chris he was looking in the direction of the camera smiled as if he

Kevin had his first nightmare that night. There were voices coming from far way, laughing and singing. There was a sound like a heartbeat coming from all around, and Kevin struggled against the hands grabbing him, hitting, him, kicking him. Finally he gave up, and covered his head with his hands. He looked up, and saw a light coming toward him. He reached for it. He heard his own name.
He felt hands holding him back. He cried out, fear gripping his heart itself, and reached for the light.
“Kevin, wake up!”
He jumped and his eyes flew open. He was on his bed. His father was staring at him in the dark, holding his wrists down on the mattress. His father's lip was bleeding. Edd was standing in his pajamas behind Mr. Barr, looking concerned. Kevin was covered in sweat, heart beating and breathing as though he’d just run a mile.
“You were having a nightmare, son. It’s ok.”
“I Just… I- Im ok. You can let go dad.

The next day, Edd was still sore. He hid it well most of the day, but there were times he moved too suddenly and winced. He made a mental note to return the favor to Kevin as he hunched over at his locker. Suddenly, a shadow crossed over his field of vision. He turned and was facing down three large boys he recognized from the varsity football team. He stared at them defiantly. They obviously weren’t here for a friendly visit. “What?” Edd asked angrily. When they didn’t say anything, he sidestepped them and began to walk away. He was grabbed by two of them and pulled back. His back hit the locker doors with such force that he gasped.
People looked around curiously, but then saw who was involved and scurried away. The larger one struck Edd in his stomach and he doubled over in pain. “Back off of Barr.” He said quietly.
“Why do you care? Football season is over. Aurgh!” He was hit across the face and in the stomach again. He was gasping.
